What Is HyQvia?

HyQvia® is an FDA-approved subcutaneous immune globulin (SCIG) therapy for the treatment of primary immunodeficiency (PI) in adults. It combines immune globulin 10% (IG 10%) with recombinant human hyaluronidase to allow for larger volumes of IG to be infused less frequently — typically every 3 to 4 weeks, similar to IVIG dosing schedules.

HyQvia is infused subcutaneously (under the skin), typically into the abdomen or thighs, and is administered in a clinical setting or by trained self-administration.

Conditions Treated with HyQvia

HyQvia is indicated for:

• Primary immunodeficiency (PI) in adults, including:
  • Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID)
  • X-linked agammaglobulinemia
  • Other B-cell-related antibody deficiencies

HyQvia provides long-term antibody support to help prevent serious infections and improve immune function in patients with chronic immunodeficiency.

HyQvia Side Effects

HyQvia is generally well tolerated, but as with any immune globulin therapy, side effects may occur. Common side effects include:

• Headache
• Fatigue
• Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, itching)
• Fever or chills
• Nausea
• Muscle or joint pain

Serious but rare risks include thromboembolic events, hypersensitivity reactions, or aseptic meningitis. Our clinical staff monitors all patients closely during treatment.
