Keytruda® (Pembrolizumab) IV Infusion Therapy

Immunotherapy for Advanced and Metastatic Cancers

Clearwell Infusion Centers provides supportive administration of Keytruda (pembrolizumab) infusions in coordination with referring oncologists. Our Miami center offers private treatment suites, flexible scheduling, and protocol-driven care for eligible patients undergoing immunotherapy.

What Is Keytruda?

Keytruda® (pembrolizumab) is an FDA-approved immune checkpoint inhibitor that works by blocking PD-1, a protein that cancer cells use to avoid detection by the immune system. By inhibiting PD-1, Keytruda helps your immune system recognize and attack cancer cells.

Keytruda is administered as an intravenous (IV) infusion, typically every 3 or 6 weeks, depending on your treatment plan.

  • Bladder (Urothelial) Cancer

It may be used alone or in combination with other therapies, and is typically prescribed when the cancer is advanced, metastatic, or has high levels of PD-L1 expression.

Keytruda Side Effects

Keytruda affects the immune system, which can cause it to attack normal organs and tissues. Common side effects include:

  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Itching or rash
  • Diarrhea
  • Decreased appetite
  • Cough or shortness of breath

More serious risks include inflammation of the lungs, liver, intestines, or endocrine glands, as well as severe infusion reactions. Patients are closely monitored throughout the treatment process. Visit the Keytruda safety page for more information.
