Fabrazyme® (Agalsidase Beta) IV Infusion Therapy

Enzyme Replacement Therapy for Fabry Disease

Clearwell Infusion Centers provides safe, professional administration of Fabrazyme (agalsidase beta) for patients with Fabry disease. As a trusted infusion center in Miami, we offer private suites, flexible scheduling, and compassionate, patient-first care for individuals with rare and complex conditions.

What Is Fabrazyme?

Fabrazyme® (agalsidase beta) is an FDA-approved enzyme replacement therapy used to treat Fabry disease, a rare genetic disorder caused by a deficiency of the enzyme alpha-galactosidase A. This enzyme deficiency leads to the accumulation of a fatty substance called globotriaosylceramide (GL-3), which can damage the kidneys, heart, and other organs.

Fabrazyme works by replacing the missing enzyme, helping reduce GL-3 buildup and slow disease progression. It is administered as an intravenous (IV) infusion every two weeks.

Conditions Treated with Fabrazyme

Fabrazyme is indicated for:

  • Fabry disease (confirmed by genetic testing or enzyme assay)

Fabrazyme helps manage symptoms and reduce the risk of long-term organ damage by restoring enzyme levels in the body.

Fabrazyme Side Effects

Fabrazyme is generally well tolerated, but some patients may experience side effects.

Common side effects:

  • Fever or chills
  • Headache
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Fatigue
  • Shortness of breath
  • Infusion-related reactions (e.g., rash, itching, chest discomfort)

Patients may receive pre-medication to reduce the risk of infusion reactions.

For a full list of potential side effects, please see the Important Safety Information and Medication Guide on the Fabrazyme Website.
