What Is Evenity?

Evenity® (romosozumab-aqqg) is an FDA-approved osteoporosis treatment that both increases bone formation and decreases bone breakdown — a dual-action approach unique among osteoporosis therapies. It is prescribed for postmenopausal women at high risk for fracture, particularly those who have failed or are intolerant to other treatments.

Evenity is administered as two subcutaneous injections once a month for 12 consecutive months, with each dose given by a healthcare provider.

Conditions Treated with Evenity

Evenity is approved to treat:

• Osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk for fracture
• Patients who have had a recent fracture or multiple risk factors
• Patients who cannot use or did not respond to other osteoporosis medications

After completing the 12-month Evenity course, treatment is typically followed by another antiresorptive therapy to maintain bone density.

Evenity Side Effects

Evenity is generally well tolerated, but like all medications, it may cause side effects.

Common side effects:

• Joint pain
• Headache
• Injection site reactions (pain, redness, or swelling)
• Muscle cramps
• Fatigue

Serious risks include:

• Increased risk of heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death in some patients
• Low blood calcium levels (hypocalcemia) in certain individuals

Your provider will evaluate your cardiac history and calcium levels before treatment.
