What Is Entyvio?

Entyvio® (vedolizumab) is an FDA-approved biologic therapy used to treat adults with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease. It is a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the gut’s immune system by blocking the α4β7 integrin, which plays a key role in chronic gastrointestinal inflammation.

Entyvio is administered by intravenous (IV) infusion, typically every 8 weeks after the initial loading doses.

Conditions Treated with Entyvio

Entyvio is indicated for adult patients with:

• Moderate to severe Ulcerative Colitis (UC)
• Moderate to severe Crohn’s Disease (CD)

Entyvio is generally prescribed when conventional treatments, such as corticosteroids or immunomodulators, have not provided sufficient symptom relief or remission.

Entyvio Side Effects

• Infusion-related reactions (chills, rash, itching)

Serious infections are rare but possible. Patients are monitored during and after infusion for any adverse reactions.
